JOB TITLE: Bid Manager

JOB LOCATION: Birmingham Office – Lombard Street, West Bromwich

RESPONSIBLE TO: Business Development Manager

A Bid Manager is required to join a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric property maintenance company. This is a great opportunity for a Bid Manager to be based in the Birmingham Office.

BRIEF DETAILS OF POSITION:
A full time vacancy has arisen to join our bid team. The main duty of this position is to produce compelling responses to client tender requirements, both through written content and presentation. Roles include:

• Ownership of written content for Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs),Invitation to Tenders (ITT’s) and opportunity submission requests
• Full responsibility for the written content and compilation of detailed, attractive and successful bid submissions
• Oversee the administration of bid activities and coordinate resource
• Drafting up and formatting of high quality bids
• Monitoring and management of opportunities pipeline;
• Utilise templates/ graphic packages to ensure the proposal is attractive and professional
• Ensuring all documents are coordinated on time and to deadlines
• Creating presentations in various formats and developing bid templates
• Manage relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate and engaging responses
• Developing and maintaining a high quality and user friendly bid library, working with SMEs to ensure that all content is up-to-date and best practise
• Liaison and coordination of post contract award transition with Mobilisation Manager

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Key attributes will include:

• Strong communication skills
• Strong time management and an ability to meet deadlines
• Very strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills are essential
• Good communication skills and strong relationship management with SMEs
• Well organised with a high attention to detail
• Have the ability to meet tight deadlines and focus on priorities despite a very wide range of competing demands on time
• Willingness to learn and adapt to differing situations, methods and requirements
• Challenge, develop and strive to continuously improve bid production
• Assertive yet tactful, motivating members of the bid team
• Ability to adapt to work with different teams with varying objectives
• Able to accurately interpret client requirements and to articulate a persuasive winning solution
• Familiar with the competitive marketplace
• Comfortable in a client facing environment
• Sound understanding of commercial and risk management issues
• Good strategic vision with an ability to understand a client’s needs and objectives
